I know the devil

It lives in you, just as it lives in me

Snubbing and suppressing the better angels of our nature into obscurity

“Silence”

The perfect time for it to strike

A rattlesnake lurking behind a rock out of sight

“Pause”

Then it bites!

When you least expect it, evil intercepts your magnificent soul

Enveloping you whole in it’s imperceptible shadow

Smoke & mirrors, you’ve been hit by an invisible arrow!

Eating at every fiber of your greatness right down to the bone marrow

Taking what was once solid gold and reducing it right down to a cancerous mold

This is a cautionary tale if one is ever to be told

Beware of convenience and comfort

Indulgence and delight

For what appears suspiciously perfect guises the most ugly and inhuman underneath

Stay focused, be grateful, never lose sight of the truth, seek guidance, and pray

Do not become another victim of the Devil’s blood-soaked blade

Do not let it’s seductive silky smooth hand lead you astray

Don’t you ever let it take you away!

No matter how tempting

You must never grant evil an ounce of dominion over your rich spirit and if you dare do so

Be privy to the truth that

Your spirit will be instantly gone like it was a candle that got snuffed out by a single blow

And even if you were to wail the loudest, strongest, deepest screams at the very top of your lungs’ highest capacity, and means

Nobody, not even the ghosts closest to you, would hear you, and even if they did

No one would be able to help you anymore

So I plead with you, do not let yourself fall to that fiery floor

Rather you could open your heart to the universe’s intangible glory

Writing a life-determining note to yourself,

As to who you are deciding to be

The transient meaningless slave, or the purposeful eternal master, of your own inimitable story?
